Small intro about yourself.

I’m 23 & from the North Shore. I went from working in the music industry to working as a make up artist for MAC Cosmetics & now I am entering the fitness world. I love group fitness & strongly believe that life begins outside of your comfort zone. I’m obsessed with music & fashion & exploring the city as well as napping all day with my dogs.

What is your bossy business

I’m a fitness & lifestyle blogger. I started my weight loss journey 2 years ago when I lost 40 pounds. I never knew that I would gain an entirely new outlook & lifestyle. I went from having poor mental health & self worth to owning my body. I share my realistic approach to what a wellness & balanced lifestyle looks like. I’m honest with my readers about the struggles of staying motivated & share some of my favorite places to sweat in the city. I also enjoy giving beauty advice & sharing simple plant based recipes.

When did you start your business/project

EffieKala.com is only 4 months old & I have big plans ✨

What inspired you to be your own babe

I’ve always played by my own rules but my self conscious-ness always held me back. Once I worked on my body & mind & felt empowered I knew there were other girls like me that were going through the same struggles. I knew I wanted to be a voice that was telling other babes “Hey! Same!”

What's your favorite place in Chicago?

There are so many spots in different neighborhoods that I love but the West Loop has got to be my favorite! The vibe is incredible cause it’s city but more laid back than River North & all of my favorite restaurants are there.

What's your dream vaca?

Tulum!!!!! It looks like the most amazing disconnect from the world. I would love to stay in a little hut & swim all day.

To date whats your biggest accomplishment?

Deciding to get the hell out of my comfort zone.

you've made it, you're doing an interview for Oprah and she asks you what your biggest struggle was in your journey, whats yours?

That perfection isn’t the goal.

If you could brunch with your ultimate boss babe crush, who would it be and why.

I would love to have avocado toast with Shayla Quinn. She’s like the cooler Cali girl yogi version of me & her blog & her lifestyle are absolute goals.
